French Louis XVI style, first quarter 19th century, gilt, patinated bronze and carrara marble mantel clock, modeled with a classical draped maiden and a cloud-borne putto representing "Venus & Cupid" surrounding a signed circular white enameled clock dial and engraved pierced hands movements; twin barrels, silk suspension with anchor escapement countwheel strike on bell, pendulum. The circular center part surmounting a cylindrical column ornamented with ormolu floral swags and ribbon terminating with ormolu engraved frieze mounting a white carrara marble plinth inset with relief-cast panel of playful putti and two satan ormolu figures to both sides, the marble plinth stands on 6 toupie feet.
