French François Mondon style galbée (curved) commode, inlaid with cut veneers , with veined marble top, five drawers, foliate ormolu handles, ormolu cartouches, and cornered with ormolu acanthus ornamentations elongated with ormolu engraved strips which terminate with foliate ormolu sabots.

François Mondon was received as master craftsman around 1730 or 1735. He collaborated several times with the furniture maker of the crown, Gilles Joubert. Several pieces delivered for the crown by Joubert were in fact stamped by Mondon.
