High end reddish brown, cut veneered five drawers galbée (curved) French style large commode on the manner of François Mondon, with veined cream marble top, foliate ormolu handles, ormolu cartouches, and cornered with ormolu acanthus ornamentations elongated to terminate with foliate ormolu sabots.

Francois Mondon was born 1694 & Died 1770

François Mondon was received as master craftsman around 1730 or 1735. He collaborated several times with the furniture maker of the crown, Gilles Joubert. Several pieces delivered for the crown by Joubert were in fact stamped by Mondon.
